Arid lands

For 35 years, the Arid Lands Environment Centre has been a strong and trusted voice for the conservation and responsible management of the land, water and natural resources of Central Australia.

Our vision is 'healthy futures for arid lands and people' - your support can make this happen.

For over a decade, ElefantAsia has employed a pragmatic approach to elephant conservation, actively listening to mahouts, elephant owners and conservationists in order to better understand and appreciate the challenges of elephant conservation in Asia.

The Orangutan Conservancy (OC) supports rescue and rehabilitation centers in Borneo and Sumatra; funds conservation science; supports Indonesian orangutan experts through our education program; stages the annual Orangutan Conservancy Veterinary Workshop (OC/OVAG); and promotes orangutans and their conservation plight.

The Alice Springs Running and Walking Club has been active since 1979, promoting and encouraging running and walking as both a competitive sport and for recreational enjoyment and fitness.

Our event calendar caters for all levels of fitness and ability, from the short distance fun runs and walks, to the classic race events such as the 10 km Series, the Half Marathon and the Alice Springs Running Festival.

Tusk was established in 1990 in response to the poaching crisis of the 1980’s, which pushed black rhino to the brink of extinction and saw 100,000 elephants slaughtered each year. Since then we have become a highly effective and efficient force in African wildlife conservation.

Whether tackling the rampant illegal wildlife trade, habitat loss or human-wildlife conflict, our success is rooted in the understanding that the interests of both people and wildlife are inextricably inter-twined, and that both must be served if our achievements are to last.
